It follows a scraggly little dog as he walks the streets, hungry, dirty, alone, cold and wet. He finds himself at a shelter where he hides from the staff who try and kindly get him to leave. Finally a staff member falls in love with him and brings him to her home, where her family falls in love with him, bathes him, names him, and makes him a part of his family.
It's such a lovely way to teach our kids about stray dogs and pound dogs who need rescuing. I would read this every night to them as long as they realize that there are sweet dogs out there who need homes.
Stay tuned to find out what pound dog we adopt soon! |
